Dr. Hesham S. Anklesaria
MBBS, FAMS, FICS, FRCO
Dr. Anklesaria is widely recognized in Pakistan as one of the formost Opthalmic Surgeons. A leading Philanthropist, Dr. Anklesaria, through his landmark Anklesaria Hospital where he serves as Chairman Emeritus, has dedicated the last 50 years of his life in improving the vision and thus the quality of life of literally hundreds of thousands of citizens of Pakistan’s largest city, Karachi.
An Opthalmic Surgeon, Dr. Anklesaria received his M.B.B.S degree from Karachi’s Dow Medical College, his F.A.M.S. degree from Australia, an F.I.C.S degree from the United States and an F.R.C.O. from the United Kingdom. |

Professor Zeba Aziz
MD, FCPS
Dr. Zeba Aziz is a Professor of Oncology/Hematology at the Allama Iqbal Medical
College in Lahore.
She received her M.B.B.S from Lahore’s Fatima Jinnah Medical College and completed
her residency in internal medicine from New York’s St. Vincent Hospital. Dr. Aziz received a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology from Long Island Jewish Medical Center & Queens General Hospital, New York and another fellowship in Hematology/Oncology from Down State Medical Center.
As one of Pakistan’s leading clinical oncologists, Dr. Zeba Aziz, has delivered over 70 lectures, papers and poster presentations at numerous medical conferences and symposiums all over the world , including Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Dubai, Egypt, France, Greece, India, Italy, United States, etc.
Dr. Aziz is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the European Society of Pediatric Hematology & Immunology, the European Society of Medical Oncology, of Pakistan Medical Association, and a Council Member of the Asian Clinical Oncology Society. She is also a member of the Steering Committee and a Faculty member of ACORD (Australia & Asia Pacific Clinical Oncology Research Development Workshop), amongst many other organizations and societies.
Dr. Aziz has worked as a clinical investigator for the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland and has been involved in over 35 clinical research and medical trial programs.
With her work in clinical oncology and in conducting clinical research and trials, Dr. Zeba Aziz brings tremendous depth of experience and know how to MEDCO as we establish our clinical research business.

Kenneth T. Hern
BA, MS, MBA
Mr. Kenneth T. Hern serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Nova Biosource Fuels, a United States based publicly traded company which is listed on the American Stock Exchange. As a former senior executive of Texaco, now part of oil giant Chevron,Mr. Hern served as President of Texaco Saudi, Inc., between 1981-1984, as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Texaco Nigeria Limited from 1984 through 1989, and as President of Texaco Brazil from 1989 through 1994. During his time with Texaco, Mr. Hern interacted with and advised government agencies of each country, and provided significant relationship and liaison coordination between the United States and each nation. Mr. Hern still retains significant business and personal relationships in these nations and in particular in Brazil. Mr. Hern was nominated as United States Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Nigeria.
With his extensive international business contacts, Mr. Hern will provide Medco with invaluable access and guidance as it establishes itself as the "go to" company in Pakistan for organizing and facilitating clinical research programs for both US and EU based biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
Mr. Hern earned a B.A. in Chemistry from Austin College, an M.S. in Organic Chemistry from North Texas State University and he received Associates Degrees from the Wharton School of Business and from Carnegie Mellon University. |

Mr. Mir Imran
Mr. Mir Imran is internationally recognized as a founder, entrepreneur and enthusiast of high technology companies. He is the Chairman and CEO of InCube, Inc, a Silicon Valley incubator for medical and Internet companies. Through this incubator, he has founded numerous medical and high technology companies and has become one of the world's most successful inventors, entrepreneurs and investors in the field of healthcare. Mr. Imran holds more than 200 issued patents and is perhaps most well known for his pioneering contributions to the first FDA-approved Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator. However, he has invented a number of breakthrough devices that have set new standards of care for their particular industries. Highlights include the world's first EEG monitors, Trans-Urethral Needle Ablation (TUNA) procedures, embolic protection devices, ultrasound imaging and a host of other innovations that he commercialized through successful business ventures.
As a successful entrepreneur, Mr. Imran has founded over 20 medical device companies, including: Vidamed (acquired by Medtronic), Physiometrix (IPO 1996), Cardiac Pathways (IPO 1996), Advanced Cytomextrix (acquired by Oncotech 1997), Percusurge (acquired by Medtronic 2001), Reflow, (acquired 1999), Safeview (acquired by L3 2006) Intrapace (founded 2001), Spinal Modulation (founded 2005) & Zonare (founded 1999).
As an investor, Mr. Imran serves as the Life Science Venture Partner for DFJ ePlanet, where he has led 9 investments in a range of promising ventures around the globe. In addition to his venture capital activities, he is also an active angel investor, with a portfolio based around both medical and pharmaceutical ventures. Mr. Imran currently holds board seats with Bodymedia, Cardiovasc, Intrapace, Egeen International, Spinal Modulation, ZARS and Zonare.
He holds an MS in Bio-Engineering and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers, where he also spent three years as a Research Specialist. |

Dr. Aasim Yusuf
Since 2004, Dr. Aasim Yusuf is the Medical Director of Pakistan’s premier oncology institute, the Shaukat Khannum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKM) where he is responsible for all matters relating to clinical care and clinical quality, as well as overseeing clinical research at the Hospital. He has been associated with this state of the art cancer facility in Lahore since its inception where, amongst other achievements, he has been responsible for developing gastroenterology services and for the commissioning of the GI endoscopy unit.
From 1999 to 2004, Dr. Yusuf was the Head of the Department of Medicine at Shaukat Khanum. Under his leadership, the department achieved recognition from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan as a postgraduate training site in Internal Medicine.
Apart from his duties as the Medical Director at SKM, Dr. Yusuf, twice a year, locums as
a Consultant Gastroenterologist in the United Kingdom to help keep abreast of the latest advancements in both general medicine and gastroenterology.
Prior to joining SKM, Dr. Yusuf worked extensively in the United Kingdom, including, as a Locum Consultant Physician/Gastroenterologist at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, Shropshire, at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals in Cornwall and Good Hope Hospital in Cornwall.
Dr. Yusuf has authored over thirteen publications, both here in Pakistan and internationally and has attended or presented medical research papers at fourteen international conferences including those held in Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, in the United States; in Barcelona, Spain and in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, and Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick in the United Kingdom. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and also trains physicians who have completed postgraduate gastroenterology training advanced therapeutic endoscopy procedures and is a recognized supervisor for post graduate training in medicine leading to the Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. Dr. Yusuf is an elected member of the British Society of Gastroenterology and also American Gastroenterology Association.
Dr. Yusuf obtained his M.B.B.S. from King Edward Medical College, in Lahore and obtained his F.R.C.P. and M.R.C.P. certifications from the United Kingdom. |
